384 bit encryption!! I remember when 8 bit was supposed to be the absolute, unhackable world beating standard..Then it was 16-bit, then 32 and..well, you see where I’m going. I wonder if we are seeing some diminishing returns in this regard, because it seems the need keeps growing.

Data mining in cell phone location logs and warrant-less wiretapping/suspending civil liberties are not even close cousins so, don’t hold your breath waiting for decent people to cry out against this ruling. In fact, this data mining expedition is no different than reviewing captured license plate numbers from a toll plaza after a child abduction.

If you don’t want your location noted, don’t drive through places that record your tag number – and don’t use your cell phone. Easy enough.

I’m waiting to see if the outcry from Obama’s supporters will even come close to matching the similar din resulting from Bush’s Patriot Act surveillance tactics. I haven’t heard it yet. All those screaming, spit flying from the lips of feral protesters so soon after Americas greatest tradegy, 9/11. The same crowd should protest just as vehemently if they believe privacy issues are being bent and exploited.
